Checkout Agreement - In order to comply with the industries online practices you will be presented a Checkout Agreement which basically outlines everything presented in our FAQ. In order to place an order you have to click on the Agree button. If you disagree, no problem, the system will direct you to our Store Front and the checkout process will not be continued.

Secure Transactions - As soon as you click on "Checkout" you will see that your browser's address bar changes from http:// to https:// which means you are entering our hosting's company Secure Socket Layer (SSL).
Customer Information - We gather the necessary information for us to process several tasks: Orders, Mailing Lists and Wait Lists. Information in each of these tasks are completely independent from each other (see Diagram #5).
- Online Account - When you create your online account, the information is stored (shipping and billing, telephone and e-mail).
- Order Confirmation - When you place an order, our online system will use your e-mail address to send you the order confirmation.
- Shipping Notification - When your order is expedited, our shipping system will use your e-mail address to send you the shipping notification.
- Members Only - When you create an account you become a member. As a member you will Members annoucements such as when special discounts are being offered.
- Mailing Lists - Message are sent to your e-mail address and you may unsubscribe at any time thru the Mailing List manager.
- Wait Lists - When you sign up for a Wait List, our system will only use your e-mail address to send you the respective notification when that specific item is back in stock or is available to Pre-Order.
Free Shipping -
ALL online U.S. orders include free Shipping, Handling is only $1.00 per order no matter the amount of items in the order. Orders are shipped thru US First Class or Priority Mail by the US Postal Service with Delviery Confirmation (with limited scans for US Military Bases & Embassies abroad). You may add Signature Confirmation for an additional fee (not available for US Overseas). For online International Orders, please choose the International option of your preference which will cover for the addtional S&H.

All transactions are Prepayment which means the payment process will start as soon as the order is placed. Secure online payments for US and INTL orders: Major Credit or Debit Cards (Amex, Visa & MasterCard).

Cancellations - All the online transactions are settled daily at 11 pm. If you need to cancel an order, please send us a Cancellation Request via e-mail (available in our Customer Service area). If the cancellation request is for an order placed the same day, once we receive your request we will try as much as possible to void the transaction before it settles. If your request is received after the transaction has settled, then a Store Credit will be issued (except handling fee). If your request is received after the order has already been expedited (turned over to the US Postal Service), the cancellation would not be possible and you would then have to follow the Order Return process (available in our Customer Service area).
| | Order Capture/Settlement - Payment information is not stored in our server. Such information is encrypted by the hosting company's Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and feed to a leading authorizing company, Authorize.Net, which then electronically contacts your bank. Your bank, using their own parameters, then authorizes or declines the transaction (see Diagram #1). Authorized transactions are made available to us to continue the order process and our ordering system will send you via e-mail a order confirmation. The order's process includes the transaction's settlement (see Diagram #2) which will relfect in you credit or debit card statement as "MusicaBoricua.com". |
Declined transactions - If a transaction is declined, please be advised that declines cause a "temporary hold of funds" which should automatically clear in about 3 days. Because each Issuing Bank is different, please contact your Issuing Bank to find out in how many days will they clear "temporary hold of funds". Regarding reasons for declines, here are the most commons ones: AVS mismatch - this means the BILLING address you provided does not match what your Issuing Bank has on file; Card Code mismatch - this means the code you are providing does not match what appears in the corresponding location of the actual card.
Order Process - Once Authorize.Net settles the authorized transaction, we then start processing the order.
Orders with all of its merchandise in stock will be expedited (turned over to the US Postal Service) within 2 business days. Such estimate could vary during high seasons such as Christmas, St. Valentine's, Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc. NOTE: Keep in mind that we do track the merchandise availability online but due to the high volume of orders that occur at the same time is possible that merchandise may not be available at the time your order reaches the processing stage. This may cause your order to be placed on hold for 1-2 weeks while we wait for more merchandise to arrive from that specific producer or distributor. In some occasions we may go ahead and send the rest of the order and place that specific item in Backorder or issue a Store Credit. If your order has a due date (for a very special ocassion), you may always e-mail us or call us to find out the availability and/or to make special arrangements. E-mail Notification: Once your order is ready to be expedited (turned over to the US Postal Service) our shipping manager system will send you an e-mail which includes the following: the Delivery Confirmation tracking number (if applicable), a direct link to the US Postal Service's online database, the service the package is being delivered with and the extimated delivery days. In special ocassions we will also send another e-mail with a copy of the final invoice attached as a PDF file. To view a .pdf file you need Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Order Delivery - Once we expedite your order, the US Postal Service (USPS) takes over. US Contiguous destinations - For example, New Jersey, New York, Florida, California, Iowa, etc. In the event you encounter delivery delays, please contact your local US Post Office Postmaster. To prevent delivery problems, as a rule of thumb, check with the US Postal Service's address database to verify which is the most efficient format for your shipping address before you place your order. In the event the mailing address you provided is not valid according to the US Postal Service's database, we will contact you via e-mail. Once we receive the verification we will continue with the order process. If the address verification is not received within 30 days we will post it as "Not Expedited" and a online Store Credit will be issued. Regarding the US Postal Service's delivery process, in the event the US Postal Service's delivery database indicates they delivered it and you did not receive it, first check with other household members or neighbors, then contact your local US Post Office as soon as possible and report the incident (copy of the form will be needed to process a claim). In the event the US Postal Service losses your package (package not scanned as delivered), contact your local US Post Office as soon as possible and report the incident (copy of the form will be needed to process a claim). All claims for lost merchandise will be replaced after the required wait time from the US Postal Service (30 days) and after proper documentation is received (copy of the Post Office report and the letter certifying the package was not received). If you want to the US Postal Service's online database to show who received the package, then Signature Confirmation should be added during checkout. If your order is to be delivered by the US Postal Service to a company that forwards the package to you and you encounter delivery delays, you must first check the US Postal Service's online database. If the US Postal Service delivered it to the third-party company, then you have to contact your forwarding company directly as MusicaBoricua.com or the US Postal Service have no control over the third-party company delivering your package.
US Non-Contiguous destinations - For example Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Same as above. Pointers for Puerto Rico address.
US Overseas destinations - For example, Military Installations (APO/FPO), Embassies, Guam and other territorries. Delivery Confirmation is now available by the US Postal Service. Signature Confirmation is not available. Please make sure of the correctness of the Mailing Address you provide. To prevent delivery problems, as a rule of thumb, check with the US Postal Service's address database to validate the mailing address. Basically, the order cannot be expedited if it does not match their database (including the Zip+4). Pointers for APO/FPO address. In the event the mailing address you provided is not valid according to the US Postal Service's database, we will contact you via e-mail. Once we receive the verification we will continue with the order process. If the address verification is not received within 30 days we will post it as "Not Expedited" and a online Store Credit will be issued. Regarding the US Postal Service's delivery process, in the event your package gets lost the claim process is the same as US Contiguous destinations.
International destinations - For example Canada, Mexico, Italy, Spain, Dominican Republic and other Non-US destinations. The US Postal Service's Internatinal rates changed on 14 May 2007. If the rates adjustments causes a remaining shipping balance, a Store Credit will be issued. If your orders requires additional postage we will contact you via e-mail (to the e-mail address you entered when placing your order). If a response is not received within 10 days, the order will be marked as 'Not-Expedited' and a Store Credit will be issued for the full amount.
Overstock items - These items are not part of our regular online catalog. We are closely tracking them to ensure they are not oversold. Returns (exchange or damage) depend on availability.
Items Not Expedited - Most of the music we offer are "hard to find" items. Our service will do as much as possible to have everything in stock and if we run out of a particular item we will contact the respective producer for you. In rare occasions some productions become temporarily out of stock. When this happens we send the rest of the order and leave in "Backorder" the item that is temporarily out of stock. Backorders are mailed to you as soon as the supplier makes that item available to us again. If the item is completely out of stock we then send the rest of the order with a "Store Credit" for the amount of the item no longer available. Store Credits are issued online which means that next time you checkout, provided you use the same account, the credit will automatically be deducted.
US Postal Service Returns - If the US Postal Service returns a pacakge we will automatically issue a Store Credit for all restockable items. There's a 10% restocking fee. Handling fee as well as any additional services such as Signature Confirmation are not reimburst.
Customer Returns - Once we receive a return from a customer (shipping expense covered by the customer) we will proceed as per the Return Form (shipping expense covered by MusicaBoricua). If the returned items are not to be exchanged, then a Store Credit is issued (restockable item value minus a 10% restocking fee). For return instructions, please contact our Customer Service area online.
Products Condition - MusicaBoricua.com only sells new products. We are not an auction site and we do not sell used products. MusicaBoricua.com expedites products in the same condition as received from the producers, distributors or suppliers. In rare ocassions we do alter the original wrapping: when a CD Cover is received cracked or broken in which we replace it; when a CD or DVD comes loose from the clip that holds it in place in which we will try to place it back in its clip. If a product with such exceptions is expedited, the customer will be advised (a note in the Packaging List will be included).
Anti-Piracy - We support the FBI's Anti-Piracy measures concerning those who steal copyright protected data, making unauthorized copies, downloading or uploading music without permission and consumers should be aware of the serious consequences, including federal prosecution. We purchase wholesale from well-known companies and we ("reseller") rely on wholesalers distributing products which comply with the FBI's Anti-Piracy regulations. If you suspect a product is in violation of the FBI's Anti-Piracy regulations, please print, fill out the following form and we will be able to initiate the corresponding investigation.
Licensing - We support and respect composer's copyrights. We purchase wholesale from well-known companies and because MusicaBoricua.com cannot be responsible if such merchandise complies or not with Licensing Regulations, we rely on the general public and organizations to advise us of any product(s) they suspect is not complying with such Licensing Regulations. If you suspect a product is in Licensing violations, please print, fill out the following form and we will be able to initiate the corresponding investigation.
