Federico
Cordero

Federico Cordero was a child prodigy when he began studying the guitar
at the early age of eight in his native Puerto Rico. He continued
his classical guitar studies in Spain under the tutelage of Maestro
Miguel Rubio, a distinguished disciple of Andres Segovia. He also
studied flamenco guitar with Andalucia's foremost virtuoso: the
late Manuel Cano. Besides performing in Puerto Rico on a regular
basis, he has played concerts in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Spain,
Switzerland, Portugal, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Aruba and St.
Croix. He has performed in various cities in the U.S.A.,
including Cleveland, Atlanta, Boca Raton, St. Louis, the Oberlin
Conservatory, Temple U. (Phila.), at the Univ. of Akron and the Buffalo
Campus of SUNY. He has served on the Board of Directors of the
Pablo Casals Music Festival, and the Guitar Foundation of
America. He is a former professor of Law and Economics at the U.
of Puerto Rico, and a former member of the House of Representatives of
Puerto Rico.
